The title might be misleading, because I am not actually making clothes. I am trying to "upgrade" some old sweaters by adding colorful fabric and Sashiko design. So far, I like the results a lot - I am even thinking to buy second hand clothes on purpose for this.
I had three old sweaters I wanted to throw away - the perfect subject for my first clothing experiments.
On the first one, I simply added some sashiko stitching - I liked that one a lot already and I did not want to change it too much.
The other two, they had a boring design and they were already losing color, so a stronger action was needed. I add some matching fabrics on the side, and some sashiko embrodery around it. I really like how they came out. Moreover, I feel good about myself since I managed to recycle without throwing them away - and no need to buy new ones!
Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures before starting. This was really a pity, it would have been nice to show the differences between before and after: I will definitely keep it in mind for next time.
